About UMANS
UMANS Purpose

To assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality of healthcare. ​

To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns.

To aid in the development of the whole person, including his/her professional role and his/her responsibility for health care of people in all walks of life.
Who can be a member?
All undergraduate students of the University of Maryland School of Nursing on the Rockville campus are members of UMANS and have the right to vote in general elections.
The monies received by UMSON from the Student Activities Fee are paid by each student at the time of registration for each semester. The University of Maryland allocates these funds to UMANS according to established financial policies and procedures.

The University of Maryland Association of Nursing Students (UMANS) is the University of Maryland's local chapter of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). ​

UMANS members are required to be NSNA members and participate in UMANS events and fundraising to attend the NSNA annual convention.​
